Hawthorn’s form since their 0-5 start makes them a team to be reckoned with.
They have now entered the top eight and are looming as the competition’s in-form side.
So, how do you beat them? Former Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has given his thoughts.
“The way a team is going to knock over Hawthorn is mass pressure across their half backline and winning clearance,” Buckley told SEN Mornings.
“You need high-forwards to come and pressure and cut their run and carry off before it starts, which is the way teams have gone after GWS through the year.
“So, which teams are capable of that? They’re the teams you need to look at. Maybe the Bulldogs, maybe the Lions. You need mass pressure across their half backline to stop it before it starts.
“Once they get going, the ground gets pretty big once they get across the wings.”
The Hawks must beat Richmond and North Melbourne to finish the season and lock in a top eight spot.
