SEN’s Dwayne Russell has picked out his five best wins from Round 23!

Russell picked his winners from 1-5, with number one being the victory that he felt was most impressive from the round that was.

Check out Russell’s top five wins from the weekend below.

1. Carlton                 def West Coast (34-99) – Optus Stadium

“Carlton had the number one win of the weekend,” Russell said on SEN Afternoons.

“Carlton had to win even though they had a lot of injuries, two debutants and a second-gamer in the west against an Eagles side coming off two wins in a row.

“The win put Carlton back in the eight and destiny in their own hands.

“I think that was the number one win of the weekend.”

2. GWS           def Fremantle (101-92) – ENGIE Stadium

“At number two, I’ve got the Giants.

“They beat Fremantle who is a finals contender, they came from behind.

“This is the moment for the Giants. They've got a flag to win here, and I'd say the same about Port Adelaide as being the second-best win of the weekend except that the Giants beat a fellow finals contender.”

3. Port Adelaide         def Adelaide (80-58) – Adelaide Oval

“That's why I've got Port at three.

This is Port's moment. 12 years of disappointment where they haven’t made the Grand Final.

“Three times they've had this opportunity recently and blown it.

“They need to get it done this year. Ken Hinkley, Ollie Wines, Travis Boak and Co. need to at least make the Grand Final.”

4. Collingwood          def Brisbane (79-78) – MCG

“Collingwood at four.

“They kept their finals chances alive only to be snuffed out by Carlton yesterday.

“Collingwood's win was an epic win as well. I had them at four even though they can't make the finals.

“It didn't amount to as much as they hoped it would.”

5. Sydney               def Essendon (59-98) – Marvel Stadium

“Sydney I've got at five, they desperately needed that win.

“I know that they were locked into top two anyway, but they've got some form back at the right end of the season.”
