The certainties for every remaining Round 24 game

Back for another week, the SEN.com.au team gives you an insight into how every game will play out across the weekend.

Labelling something a ‘certainty’ in any sport is fraught with danger.

But we’ll attempt to find some anyway.

Here is what we consider certainties for the eight remaining games in Round 24 across Saturday and Sunday.

Geelong versus West Coast

Cameron 2+ goals

This is a conservative tip.

Jeremy Cameron at home, against 16th-placed West Coast who are without Jeremy McGovern and Tom Barrass. It screams bag, doesn’t it?

The big forward has kicked 12 goals from his last four games and kicked four the last time the sides met in 2023.

2+ should be a simple get for Cameron this week if he plays anywhere near his capabilities.

Lachlan Geleit

Richmond versus Gold Coast

Ben King boots 2+ goals

What better way to cap off a career year than with a big day out on the ‘G?

Ben King has been incredibly consistent as the spearhead for Gold Coast’s attack this year, booting 54 goals so far and having kicked less than two in just four games this season.

The key forward has had his way with the Tigers throughout his career, having kicked 14 majors in just five games against the yellow and black.

With Richmond’s defence in shambles, the stage is set for a monster performance from King.

Jack Makeham

Hawthorn versus North Melbourne

Gunston to kick 2+ goals

Jack Gunston has been on fire since returning to the side three weeks ago.

The veteran has kicked 12 goals (4, 3 and 5) in his last three outings and has been a central figure in Hawthorn’s recent blitz.

In Gunston’s last three against North Melbourne the three-time premiership forward has booted 9.11 including an inaccurate 1.3 back in Round 6.

With the amount of ball the Hawks are getting forward at the moment, it should be fairly academic that Gunston kicks at least a couple.

Andrew Slevison

Brisbane versus Essendon

Rayner 15+ disposals

Cam Rayner has recorded 15+ disposals in each of Brisbane’s last six matches and he should continue that form against the Dons.

In three of those games, he's also had 20+ as he spends more time in the midfield and that should again be the case come Saturday.

He also picked up 20 touches to go with a goal the last time these sides met.

As a result, Rayner should easily get at least 15 disposals in his side's last game before finals.

Noah Desta

Sydney versus Adelaide

Crouch 25+ disposals

Matt Crouch has recorded 25+ disposals in 18 of his last 19 games

The prolific midfielder is also averaging a career-high 19.6 handballs a game this season. He could go close to reaching 25 just by hand.

Across the last five weeks, Crouch has had 30, 35, 26, 32, and 29 disposals, respectively.

Up against a Sydney side that will allow him to operate with relative freedom, Crouch should cruise past 25 disposals on the SCG.

Noah Desta

Western Bulldogs versus GWS

Liberatore 20+ disposals

The Bulldogs veteran has put together another strong season, averaging 23.7 disposals per game.

Liberatore also has a healthy record against the Giants, amassing 35 disposals in his last meeting against Adam Kingsley’s side at Mars Stadium in Round 20 last year.

The tough midfielder is coming into this week’s clash on good form, recording 20 or more disposals in four of his last five matches.

We should be able to pencil him in for another 20 this week.

Tom Williams

Carlton versus St Kilda

Owies to kick at least one goal

The crafty forward has had a career-best season, recording 32 goals with an average of 1.5 goals per game.

However, the 27-year-old is still waiting for the Blues to offer a contract extension despite consistently getting selected.

With a finals appearance and a contract extension on the line, Owies will likely come out firing and hit the scoreboard regularly - particularly with key pillars Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay sidelined.

Tom Williams

Fremantle versus Port Adelaide

Rozee 25+ disposals

With a home Qualifying Final and a top-four spot at stake, we should see a dominant performance from the Port Adelaide skipper.

Averaging 24.8 disposals this season, we should see Rozee put together an inspiring performance that may lift his side over the line.

Don't expect him to go missing in a game that matters so much to his club.
