Who were the six best players in Round 24?

Nathan Buckley and Kane Cornes assessed each game on SEN Breakfast and came up with their top six performers.

Read their thoughts below:

Jeremy Cameron (Geelong)

“Why don’t we start with big ‘Jezza’ for his nine (goals),” Cornes said.

“At one point he had seven kicks for seven goals straight and he was hungry, he wanted 10.

“When he’s in that sort of mood, I know it was against West Coast, he is so watchable.”

Ed Richards (Western Bulldog)

“I thought Ed Richards’ game was off the charts,” said Buckley.

“Marcus Bontempelli was excellent and you could argue one who had the most impact on the contest, but I thought Ed Richards (did).

“He’s been excellent when he’s been fit. He’s missed a couple of games through concussion, a couple through injury.

“Started as a half-back, has played more and more football through the midfield.”

Patrick Cripps (Carlton)

“His third quarter was amazing,” said Cornes.

“He was beaten in the first half, I thought. Liam Stocker did a pretty good job on him.”

Buckley added: “It was a little bit Daicos-like from the week earlier where one quarter was quite significant.

“Cripps ran out of gas a little bit at the end. It shows you can’t rely on too few.

“Carlton have played pretty well the last few weeks and Cripps has carried a fair bit of that expectation.”

Nick Daicos (Collingwood) & Lachie Neale (Brisbane)

Jai Newcombe (Hawthorn)

“Hawthorn’s performance was huge and he was massive,” said Buckley.

“In a group full of players that look so even to me across the board, that’s one of the attractions of Hawthorn.

“I thought Newcombe’s performance was huge.”
