SEN’s Brent Costelloe has received some interesting mail about the Tasmania Devils Football Club.
Those whispers surround former Collingwood football boss Graham Wright, who Costelloe believes could be headed to the Devils in a key footy role.
Wright hails from East Devonport and represented Tassie in state football across his 201-game AFL career with Collingwood, and Costelloe is hearing that he could be headed back home with the competition’s 19th side.
“This is just one to keep an eye on,” Costelloe said on The Devil’s Advocate.
“Some mail has come across our desk here at The Devil's Advocate, it’s a bit of an obvious one but still very exciting all the same.
“My spies tell me that after leaving his role as Collingwood's Executive General Manager of Football, Tasmanian Graham Wright is in line to take on a new role with the Devils.
“It's an obvious link, as I said, but let's see what happens in the coming weeks.”
Wright left his role with Collingwood last month after playing a huge role in the club’s 2023 premiership success. The 56-year-old chose not to return to Collingwood after taking a sabbatical in 2024.
He also served as Hawthorn’s head of football from 2018 to 2021 and was one of the key list decision-makers at the Hawks from 2007 to 2017 – a period where the club won four premierships.
The Devils have already landed their inaugural CEO in former Richmond boss Brendon Gale.
