Port Adelaide great Kane Cornes admits he is concerned for his old side, given they come up against who he believes is the best coach in the game – Geelong’s Chris Scott.

The Power ambushed the Cats at GMHBA Stadium earlier in the season, winning the game and tagging Tom Stewart out of the game.

Teams followed their lead from then on, with Stewart restricted greatly across the next six weeks.

Scott adjusted by putting the star defender in the midfield, separating him from tagging forwards and allowing him to float back post-stoppage.

“We’ll see what they do with Tom Stewart, that’s the fascinating match-up,” Cornes told SEN’s Sportsday.

“He has not handled a tag, so you cannot allow him to do as he pleases.

“Jed McEntee will get him. He’s the one who first got him in 2023 and beat him well. I suspect he’ll go there again.

“But Chris Scott has had two weeks to prepare for this, that makes me nervous.

“The best coach in football having two weeks to prepare for a game like this makes me nervous.

“He’ll come up with something challenging. Whether it’s Jeremy Cameron on the wing or whether it’s Mark Blicavs in the ruck or whatever, I expect games to be played.

“This game could be won in the coach’s box, and you’d give Scott the advantage in this one.”

The Power and Cats will clash on Thursday night, with the winner guaranteed a home Preliminary Final.
