Melbourne Storm General Manager of Football, Frank Ponissi spoke to Pat & Heals on SEN about taking on the Roosters and James Tedesco at his peak.
After missing out on Origin selection to Dylan Edwards, Tedesco has finished this season with an intensity and drive, dangerous approaching the preliminary finals.
“Over the last month, he looks quicker, fresher…he’s a player that we’ve got to keep an eye on,” Ponissi told Pat & Heals on SEN.
The Melbourne storm look ahead to tomorrow night’s preliminary final against the Sydney Roosters, Ponissi cementing the importance in spreading the team’s attention across the entire Rooster’s side.
“They’ve got 12 Internationals, they’ve got 8 players that have represented their state at State of Origin, so they come down as a dangerous team,” he added.
“While James Tedesco is no doubt a player to keep an eye on, we can’t just focus all our attention to him, we’ve got to be good across the board.”
While the Storm remain the match favourites, Ponissi is confident the team will have a real game on their hands and will need to give everything if they want to see the grand final.
“We’ve got to start well from the opening whistle, in any big game but especially against the Roosters.”
