SENTrack’s Sam Hyland believes Growing Empire will win this year’s Everest.

With the boom colt expected to earn a slot in the coming days, Hyland says punters should be backing the Ciaron Maher-trained sprinter in the 1200m sprint.

Last seen running second in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes on Friday night, Growing Empire proved that he’s not out of his depth in big Group 1 races and Hyland believes the three-year-old will be winning the Everest should he race at Randwick on October 19.

“Growing Empire absolutely wins the Everest,” Hyland said on SENTrack.

“It is a superstar, I think he is a deadest superstar and he would’ve won the Manikato Stakes if Craig Williams kept using the whip.

“He’s just a cheeky colt and is still really new but he’s a seriously good horse.”

Growing Empire is currently rated a $7.50 chance with I Wish I Win at $5 and Bella Nipotina at $7 the top two in the Sportsbet market.
