Dean Watling is willing to rule out Lady Of Camelot, I Am Me, Sunshine In Paris and Giga Kick in this years Everest.
With the field for the $15 million feature locked in, Watling ran his eyes over the star-studded race that sees a mixture of proven and up and coming stars compete.
The leading form analyst is happy to put a line through I Am Me, Lady Of Camelot, Sunshine In Paris and Giga Kick.
“I don’t think I Am Me can win an Everest,” Watling told SENTrack.
“I just think with the nature of this race I don’t think Lady Of Camelot can win an Everest, I just think she needs to find a couple of lengths albeit she probably wasn’t placed the best last start.
“I loved the first-up run of Sunshine In Paris but I think that form might be overplayed a little bit in the sense that Joliestar was flat on that day and what else did she beat in that race.
“Those are the three that I’ve got question marks about but in saying that I potted Giga Kick in 2022 and he cam out and won.
“I’m also ruling Giga Kick out, I think he is a concern as well, he’s probably the older horse that I’m worried about.
“Between him and I Wish I Win in terms of the older type of horse, he’s the one I’m worried about.
“Yes, he didn’t get the race shape last start as it was a sit and sprint and I think we’ll see his best in an Everest but it’s a wide open Everest and I think the horses at the top are giving away weight you’ve got to be a pretty good horse to win it carrying that weight so I’m a little bit concerned with Giga Kick from the weekend.”
I Wish I Win is the current $5.50 favourite ahead of Growing Empire ($6) and Bella Nipotina ($6.50).
