Blake Johnston

WATERFORD (Rosehill R8 #8)
He was brilliant first-up win at this track when giving weight to IKNOWASTAR over 1500m. He closed hard on the back of a fast tempo after being heavily supported. He then should have won in black-type company second-up when held-up at a key stage. Forgive his next two (not beaten far) on heavy tracks, he’s much better suited on top of the ground. Trials have been nice but he should be much sharper on race day with the blinkers on. Hard to hold out.

GOLDEN PATH (Rosehill R7 #6)
He comes through the right form race when filling third and splitting Eliyass (1st) who’s subsequently ran well in a Turnbull, Ceowulf (2nd) who’s subsequently won the Epsom, and Zardozi (4th) and Land Legend (5th) who quinellaed the Metropolitan. He was 42-days between runs there so he should be able to come on from that and the drop in trip suits. He’ll be right in the finish at good odds.

ANTINO (Caulfield R10 #3)
He's the horse that’s got the runs on the board. He’s chased home Mr Brightside and Pride Of Jenni at his past two under weight-for-age conditions. He finished second in this race last year with a wide run and maps to receive a more economical trail here. He comes through a couple of fast races which should have him ready to fire here.

Nick Lloyd

OSIPENKO (Caulfield R10 #12)
He's a horse who has been frustrating for punters that have stuck with him and no doubt he's wearing thin, but he's worth another go here. He placed in the Caulfield Guineas at this T/D two years ago on this day, and looks to be building towards another win. He was good in the Stradbroke at the end of last prep, and then has improved with each run this time in. Up to the mile and from a low draw, he can run a cheeky race at each way odds.

NONCONFORMIST (Rosehill R7 #5)
He was first-up for 11 months in the Chelmsford and he's since had another month between runs, but I love what he did resuming. He closed off really well behind Buckaroo, a subsequent Group 1 winner in the Underwood Stakes! Now, second-up, out to 1900, a good draw again, he can be hitting his straps late. Fitness is the obvious concern.
