Flinch reactions on 13 players who could move clubs on deadline day

The AFL Trade Period’s deadline day is here and there are still plenty of potential trades to happen.

Tom Morris has been working feverishly for SEN, Channel 9 and AFL Trade Radio during the trade period and has been across all the deals.

He has provided his flinch reactions to each of the possible trades still to come between the 2pm open time and tonight’s 7:30pm AEDT deadline.

Bailey Smith: “Gets to Geelong, not sure whether it’s tonight or in the pre-season draft. I think he gets there on the buzzer tonight.”

Jake Stringer: “I think he gets to the Giants.”

Luke Parker: “Parker gets to North Melbourne for a pick in the 40s.”

Caleb Daniel: “I’m edging towards he gets to North Melbourne with Pick 25 involved, but I can’t be confident in that.”

Tom Barrass: “Gets to Hawthorn. A future first and a future second. I don’t think there’s going to be much more involved.”

Matt Kennedy: “I think he gets to the Dogs.”

Brodie Kemp: “Carlton are talking a tough game, but I think it’s more likely he gets to the Saints than stays at the Blues. The Saints need to pony up and give something.”

Daniel Rioli: “Rioli will get to the Gold Coast Suns at potentially 2pm today. Picks 6 and 23, and some picks back to the Suns.”

Shai Bolton: “He gets to Freo today. He’s a very good player, the Tigers rate him very highly and he’s got four years to run on a deal. I don’t know if it’s going to be Picks 10 & 11 or Picks 10 & 18, but I think it gets done.”

James Peatling: “The Giants are playing hardball. Adelaide have offered several options to the Giants. They went a future second-round pick, the Crows are saying no. He could also walk to the draft, although that is not Adelaide’s preference. He’ll get to the Crows at some stage.”

Jack Macrae: “As far as I know, the Saints are yet to make an offer for Macrae. Maybe they don’t have the picks to feel like they can do so. It’s very late to be making that move.”

Clayton Oliver: “He’ll stay at the Dees, not because he wants to, but because the Dees will keep him.”

Tim Membrey: “Collingwood, I reckon, as a free agent. That’s the way it’s looking at the moment.”

Other players who could still move clubs on deadline day include Deven Robertson, Jack Hayes, Xavier O’Halloran, Dylan Shiel, Adam Tomlinson, Jason Prior, Ben Paton, Jacob Konstanty and Wade Derksen.
