“$2 quote is absolutely ludicrous”: Gannon and J-Mac give huge Fangirl push over Pride Of Jenni

SENTrack form analyst Mick Gannon is very keen on Fangirl in the King Charles Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

Pride Of Jenni is the current $2 favourite with most bookmakers as the Ciaron Maher-trained mare returns to Randwick for the first time since her Queen Elizabeth romp in the autumn.

She heads here as a last-start winner after claiming the Feehan Stakes and Gannon believes the market has overreacted to that win, saying things should be a lot closer between the pair.

“Pride Of Jenni’s $2 quote is absolutely ludicrous, she should be closer to $3,” Gannon told SENTrack.

“Fangirl at $4 is a bet, I think she’ll prove to be the superior miler here and should be able to get on the back of a couple of these like Pericles and if Zougotcha goes around I’m sure it will help her cause.

“Fangirl will be spotting Pride Of Jenni six lengths at the 400m mark and I reckon at the 100m mark she’ll go straight on by her.”

James McDonald will ride Fangirl on the weekend at Randwick over 1500m and he shared plenty of confidence with Gareth Hall on Thursday morning.

Gareth Hall: “Will you beat Pride Of Jenni on Saturday?”

James McDonald: “Yep”

Gareth Hall: “Are you sure?”

James McDonald: “Yep.”

The King Charles will be run over 1600m at Randwick on Saturday.
