“Easy bet to have”: Form analysts keen on Randwick runner on Saturday

SENTrack form analysts Mick Gannon and Dean Watling are both quite keen on Yellow Brick at Randwick on Saturday.

The Tony and Maddy Sears-trained gelding races third-up in the $1 million Five Diamonds Prelude (1500m) on the back of a dominant two-length win at Eagle Farm two weeks ago.

Gannon believes Yellow Brick will benefit from the likely fast pace given the amount of speed influences in the race.

“This race sets up perfectly for Yellow Brick,” Gannon said on SENTrack’s Giddy Up.

“Plenty will go forward and pour on the pressure.

“I think Yellow Brick will win the race. It just sets up perfectly.

“I can get as low as $2 and that’s purely off what he did last start. If he turns up here and repeats that then he wins the race.

“I think it’s an easy bet to have and one of the better bets of the day.”

Watling is also interested, citing the expected speed of the race as a major factor while also being buoyed by Maddy’s confident push for the horse (listen to the podcast below).

“Speed on speed. You look at the speed map and try to find a back marker who lands off rails,” he said.

“Yellow Brick can do that and settle off the speed.

“I think he wins this race. The price is a query, it’s probably getting out to a backable price.

“After listening to Maddy Sears this morning, it just adds confidence to that opinion.”

Yellow Brick is currently the $3.60 favourite with Sportsbet for Race 9 at Randwick which jumps at 5:30pm AEDT on Saturday.

He is putting together a formidable career record which now sits at eight wins and seven placings from 17 starts.
