Veteran player agent Liam Pickering from Bravo Talent Management can’t remember this many talented AFL players being delisted in one off-season.
Some of the bigger names that have been axed before the October 31 first list lodgement include Carlton’s Jack Carroll and Jack Martin, Geelong’s Brandan Parfitt, Richmond’s Noah Cumberland and North Melbourne’s Curtis Taylor among others.
As Pickering can’t remember this much talent losing their spots on AFL lists, he expects plenty of players to be picked up in what’s considered a strong draft and there to be some quality options for clubs to look at in the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period and the 2025 Mid-Season Draft.
“Charlie Lazzaro and Tom Emmett have (also) been delisted,” Pickering told SEN's Off The Bench.
“I can't remember this much talent being delisted in one year. I'm being serious.
“It's a combination of things, one is it’s tight for list spots and then there'll be more delistings, there's going to be contracted players that'll be delisted and re-rookied, that's already happening.
“Then you've got a good draft, and because it’s tight for list spots and it’s a strong draft, it means that the SSP and the Mid-Season Draft are going to be stacked.
“He (Cumberland) kicked two goals a game, he’s got a bit of talent, Noah.”
Axed players can also join new AFL homes once the delisted free agency period takes place between November 1 and 8.
