“He’s just a cut above”: Maher stable's best winning chance for the weekend

Ciaron Maher’s assistant trainer Jack Turnbull has rated who he thinks is the stable’s best winning chance for the weekend.

With a host of runners racing all over the country on Saturday, Turnbull is most keen on Growing Empire in the Coolmore Stud Stakes.

Last seen running third in The Everest two weeks ago, Growing Empire has headed back to Melbourne for the stallion making race down the Flemington straight over 1200m.

“I’d have to go with the colt in the Coolmore to be honest,” Turnbull told SENTrack’s Giddy Up.

“He’s just a cut above, obviously there is risk being fifth-up with travel and two weeks in between but he ran a new peak in The Everest for himself and he peaked in the Manikato.

“I just think if he runs to that again down the Flemington straight back in his own age group that he’s just going to be too good.”

Furthermore, Turnbull says punters should have an each-way play on Revolutionary Miss in the Group 1 Empire Rose in Sydney.

“Also, Revolutionary Miss to run a place in the Empire Rose is pretty good value,” he added.

As for one out wide, Turnbull believes Cora Lynn will be breaking her maiden duck at Warrnambool in Race 4 on Thursday.

“There’s also a filly running at Warrnambool today that goes well and should be knocking off her maiden today you would think,” Turnbull added.
