Race 5 | 6. Algorithmic

Has been a tad slow away in both starts so hoping jumps cleanly today. First time in Melbourne rail to guide would be a huge help from that gate. I’d say he profiles like a miler so the 1400m third up is perfect for him. Vinrock was brilliant on debut and will control the race again up to the 1400m and is the one to catch but I think Algorithmic can box seat and get him.

Race 7 | 4. Another Wil

I hate taking on Mr B but we have backed this bloke for this race for a while now. Second up form outstanding and loves Flem and firm tracks. Inside gate means Jamie Melham can save all the ground in the world. Mile is perfect and hopefully the pointers who followed me on the Sportsbet feed or listened to me in November can celebrate hard come 3:35!

Race 8 | 9. Palm Angel

Been on her for a little while and luckily passed vets inspection this morning. Only loss was horrible gate which isn’t her concern today. Will box seat but luck is critical in a Blue Diamond and she will need it in straight. A very open race with no real stars and where Field Of Play and Cherish Me with perfect draws and form will be the two toughest for Palm Aangel to beat.

Race 9 | 14. Espionage (each-way)

Was really good without a major amount of luck in a scrappy Oakleigh Plate. Has to handle the Flem straight but has no weight and drawn closer to outside which is an advantage. Can sit off a hot tempo and go bang! Tough race so go a little wider in the quad. Stretan Angel the one to beat!

RANDWICK

Race 2 | 3. Zeitung

Probably at her best over 1400m but this will be a fast run race. She runs well fresh and always in tough races including a G1. Drawn well to sit off back of speed and go bang in the straight in a huge return. Fave (Yoshinobu) drawn tad awkard for a leader. Drifting & Flying For Fun will go fast as well so J Mac will need a little luck!

Race 6 | 9. I Am Me

Slow away in G1 last start and had no luck when needed. Rain not needed so dry track expected which helps her. Back to 1000m and drawn perfect for J Mac to control race. Great second up and loves Track. As long as she jumps clean, she wins!

Race 8 | 11. Stefi Magnetica

Huge fan of her and still flat about the Golden Eagle!! Speed will be on and she will hit the line well as always. Will follow Militarize & Magic Time in the run and will come off heels to have a crack. Trialled nicely and is a nice each way play at a minimum. Soft ground might help a tad but won a Stradbroke on good track so no worries about no rain. Such an interesting race with many variables. No rain probable hurts Magic Time a tad at this level. Switzerland is great second up and change of plans means he has to be respected. Sunshine In Paris drawn badly which hurts but she is a star as well as Ceolwulf but barrier 1 the major concern not even talking about him back to 1300m but he will rattle home!

Race 10 | 10. Clear Thinking

Was great last start stepping up in grade but again can’t draw a gate. I’ll back her in to get a squeeze and be closer and pray for luck! I backed her last start in an identical race so I’ll do it again and prove she is classier than this group of Mares.
