Racing returns to Thoroughbred Park for the first time since 2025 John McGrath Auto Group Black Opal Stakes Race Day. It was grand final day for the Canberra Racing industry and attracted over 8,700 punters.
Our attention turns to this rare Wednesday meeting and there looks to be some nice horses going around on this 6-race program.
Race 4 #3 Take The Rap
This talented 3YO was far from disgraced in the Listed Fireball Stakes behind Enriched, who has since finished 2nd behind some filly named Autumn Glow.
He looked to have been right in that 1100m race for a long time and I really like him back to 1000m here.
There is a whole heap of speed engaged, as to be expected in a TAB Federal Open Handicap over 1000m which will let Norm Gardner’s Take The Rap find cover from a wide barrier before going bang late under a light weight.
He has won four of his eight starts and can add to that record here at Canberra.
R6 #3 Brazen Crime
With the scratching of So You Pence, this shapes as a very winnable race for the talented Brazen Crime.
The 1300m will be appreciated here and he maps to get all the favours here underneath Blaike McDougall.
I think this is a horse or the rise and he’ll get the job done for one of Canberra’s leading stables, Keith Dryden & Libby Snowden.
