Carlton’s Jack Silvagni suffered a break in his hand against Geelong on Sunday, reports SEN’s Sam Edmund.

The 27-year-old, who has been enjoying a good run in a key defensive role in 2025, sustained the injury in an exchange with Cats captain Patrick Dangerfield.

“A blow for club and player here, but Jack Silvagni has a break in his hand from the win over Geelong & that exchange with Dangerfield,” Edmund posted on X.

“Timeline from here remains unclear. Silvagni had found real form in that key defensive post the Blues had been crying out for.”

Tom Morris added to Edmund's initial report, saying Silvagni will likely miss up to two weeks once he undergoes surgery.

The 3-4 Blues next meet the Crows at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
