WELLINGTON

Race 2 | 3. Twining Class

Has been good in two runs so far and I do expect back to the 1000m is a big plus today. Ran third behind a handy one (Bolo Miss) on debut and was okay last start. Scratchings mean the gate isn’t a concern and I expect to be really hard to beat after squeezing forward and being on pace with the leader probably drawn outside him (Daffers).

Race 4 | 11. The Git Up

Got back and ran on well resuming over 1000m behind Pressnell which makes it feel the 1100m is perfect. Second up and soft form is a plus as is the speed of Matilda Of Tuscany which will ensure Git can strike late. Fav is Luna Lindt and no doubt the one to beat after good effort at Mudgee at staying at the 1100m helps but is drawn poorly so that makes me lean into Git.

TAREE

Race 6 | 4. Debussy

Loves the heavy and was pretty good in town last start. Is a 1000m horse and should be able to park right behind the speed. 1.5kg claim is handy and Shae Wilkes is a very good young jockey who will give a perfect steer! Zaru fave drawn badly and although heavy form reads ok all those best runs a while ago now and I think Debussy is a much better chance here!

MOE

Race 3 | 3. Captain Cat

Resuming here off a couple of easy jump outs without being asked too much! Has ran well in very similar maidens and from that gate can sit OSL (Isla Umi) or lead if not major speed pushes up inside him. Will need further into the prep but I think has the class needed to win here!

Race 9 | 4. Tophet

I’m nervous about the gate but he will go back a little anyway and there is plenty of speed headlined by the fav in Fridge Monster. Has jumped out well and clearly his forward and looks to have improved from the first prep where he finished behind Reserve Bank on debut! Thomas Stockdale riding really well and if he gets a smidge of luck he will be hard to beat! Only him and Fridge in quaddie.
