It was a clean sweep for the Agenda Setters in the footy TV wars with the Channel 7 newcomer beating it's veteran rival Footy Classified on both Monday and Tuesday.

In its first season on air, The Agenda Setters – featuring Caroline Wilson, Craig Hutchison, Kane Cornes, Luke Hodge, Dale Thomas and Nick Riewoldt - has pulled ahead of the flagship Channel 9 show.

On Monday, Cornes and co. attracted an average audience of 188,000 - 59k ahead of Classified.

It was a similar story on Tuesday with The Agenda Setters averaging 182,000 - 33k ahead of Eddie McGuire and his team.

This past week marks the first time the Agenda Setters recorded a larger average than its Tuesday timeslot and their second edition of the week is only pulling further ahead of Classified.

Furthermore, the Agenda Setters has overtaken its rival show in the year to date battle - just 600 viewers ahead - but it's a win nonetheless.

It's a neck and neck battle at the half way mark of the biggest off-field footy rivalry– the TV ratings – and the results at the midway point make for interesting reading.

In just its first season, Monday night’s The Agenda Setters - is close to pulling ahead of Footy Classified.

With an average audience this year of 185,000 across the Seven Network, Cornes and co are just 3,100 behind their Channel Nine rivals (188, 310).

Breaking down the total audience numbers, Classified – hosted by Sam McClure – holds the slightest of leads. The larger audience benefits from the show’s earlier main channel start time of 9pm.

But on Tuesday nights it’s a different story. The Agenda Setters is winning the battle on a Tuesday averaging 176,000, 19,000 ahead of a 10pm edition of Classified which features Tom Morris, Eddie McGuire, James Hird, and Rory Sloane on its second outing of the week.
