NSW Blues have suffered a huge loss for State of Origin Game II after Mitchell Moses was ruled out with injury.

With Laure Daley’s side looking to wrap the series up in Perth, Jarome Luai has been brought into camp to replace Moses who sustained a calf injury at training today (Thursday).

Speaking from the Blues camp, Jelisa Apps told SEN 1170: “Moses had a calf injury at training and he is out of Origin 2. It’s the same calf and they don’t know how long he will be out in club land.

"They have to look at a replacement, but they have to get permission from the NRL for that.”

Luai comes in off the back of the Tigers' 14-18 defeat to the Panthers on Sunday.

Matt Burton remains 18th man.

Explaining how Moses sustained the injury, NSW team performance manager Frank Ponissi told News Corp: “It happened about 20 minutes into the session.

“He took the ball down the short side and he has been ruled out of State of Origin II.

“We’re not sure about the severity at this stage.

“Our medical team is working with the Parramatta Eels medical team.

“He will have scans and return back to Parramatta. We haven’t discussed a replacement at this stage. We will sit down with our coaching staff and work with the NRL from a procedural point of view."

Origin Game II will be played in Perth on June 18, SEN will call the game LIVE.
