The Makybe Diva Stakes is the highlight of a stacked Flemington card and we cannot wait!
There is also an excellent Run To The Rose meeting at Rosehill. Hopefully the weather clears up in Sydney.
These are the Hallmarks this weekend:
Godolphin continue its Run To The Rose domination
Godolphin, in its old form, has dominated this three-year-old sprint in recent years.
James Cummings had a monopoly on the Run To The Rose with Traffic Warden (2024), Cylinder (2023), In Secret (2022), Anamoe (2021) and Bivouac (2019) all saluting in the last six years.
The Blue Army has Tempted for Ciaron Maher and Beiwacht for Chris Waller in this year's edition.
Can they win again?
Shinn (nearly) pulls off one of the great rides
Via Sistina should win the Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington on Saturday.
But it might not be gifted to her.
Blake Shinn might just try to pull off one of the great rides on Antino, taking off at the 1000 and looking the winner as he descends on the winning post.
It will take all of Via Sistina’s champion qualities to run him down.
Aeliana might head to the Caulfield Cup yet!
Emerging mare Aeliana will contest a small but strong Makybe Diva on Saturday.
If she can’t get past Via Sistina at headquarters it will be interesting to see if Chris Waller changes plan and heads to a Caulfield Cup with Aeliana.
The champion trainer has always said it was the Cox Plate as the number one target but I reckon most punters are hoping he does change his mind.
It’s Waller’s World…
Speaking of master trainer Waller, he will dominate another Saturday with his stable stars.
Waller has the likes of Via Sistina, Joliestar and Autumn Glow in at Flemington and Rosehill as he threatens to once again overpower his rivals.
It's Waller's World... we're just living in it.
