Snoop Dogg will deliver “a big show”, according to Andrew Dillon who caught a sneak peak of the US rapper rehearsing at Marvel Stadium.
Leaked footage of the rehearsal, filmed from the balcony of a nearby hotel and subsequently posted to social media, shows Dillon is not wrong with Snoop surrounded by dancers and a marching band.
The 53-year-old, who has divided opinion since being named as the pre-match entertainment, has a jam packed schedule while in Australia with numerous DJ bookings in Melbourne before Saturday’s game an event in Sydney on Sunday.
“I got a sneak peak at a rehearsal at Marvel Stadium,” Dillon told Gerard Whateley on SEN. “it’s going to be a big show.”
Vision of Snoop Dogg having a kick at the MCG with the Daicos brothers was released during the week with experts and players lauding the 53-year-old’s skills on the ball.
He kicked a goal from 40m out before slotting on effortlessly from the pocket.
"That’s crazy,’ Nick said. ‘We’re signing you!"
Speaking ahead of Saturday's performance, Snoop said he was humbled to have been asked to perform this weekend.
"I just fell in love with this sport," he said. "I always watched but never understood. I want to know more about it and see the grand finale.
"(I'm expecting) The crowd to be crazy, I know what this means to the culture. I know what this game means, not just a sport, it’s a way of life, part of your DNA.
"I’m here to do my part and bring what I bring to the table.
"It gives me peace, love, communication and understanding. Music is the key, it’s a universal language.
"I’m so honoured to be able to do this. This is huge to me. I'm truly honoured."
