The Gold Coast Titans have secured another retention coup, with halfback Jayden Campbell set to re-sign with the club for five years.

Campbell's re-signing is a massive boost for the Titans, with the star set to turn down an extra $1.5 million he could have pocketed if he had signed with expansion side the Perth Bears.

It's the second blow for the Bears in 24 hours, with Titans' backrower Beau Fermor also re-signing with the Titans on a three-year deal.

Campbell, the son of Gold Coast great Preston Campbell, will sign a deal that starts around $800,000, before growing with the new broadcast deal into seven figures per season, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Speaking to SEN on Wednesday, Titans Head of Football Scott Sattler was determined to deliver the Titans' their maiden premiership with Campbell.

“Personally, I’ve got this selfish view where I was fortunate enough to win a comp with his dad and I'd love to win a comp with his son,” Sattler said.

“When I look at what's important to me when it comes to Jayden, who I've got a really strong emotional attachment to, I look at him and say he's a big reason why I accepted to come back to the club because I'd love to see this kid be one club player.

“I’d love him to be a guy that plays an integral role in the club winning its first premiership and if I’m fortunate to be part of that, I'll take a selfish view of but that's something that's really appealing.”

The club's attention now turns to keeping captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, who has been on the radar of the Perth Bears and the Melbourne Storm.

The Bears will be hoping to land the Origin forward's signature as they look to build their inaugural roster, with concerns lingering around the club's ability to land marquee talent before their debut season.

The other big signature for the Titans, second rower Beau Fermor was grateful to remain with the club he debuted at.

“This club means a lot to me,” Fermor said, “They gave me the opportunity to achieve my NRL dream in 2020, and they’ve continued to back me throughout all the ups and downs of my career so far.”

“Most importantly, they’ve been extremely supportive for me and my young family and whilst I’m a Dalby boy at heart, the Gold Coast is my home now.

“I’m proud of the opportunity to keep wearing the Titans jersey until at least the end of 2029 and I truly believe in where we’re heading under Josh’s leadership.

"We’ve got a special group here and I’m excited to keep building with the boys and be part of the future of this club as we strive to deliver premierships for the Gold Coast.”

Hannay, who coached Fermor in Maroons camp this season, was excited to have Fermor extend his time at the club.

“Beau is the type of player every club wants - hardworking, reliable and willing to do whatever it takes for his teammates,” Hannay said.

“He represents the standards we want to be known for. His consistency and energy lift the entire group and knowing he’s committed long-term is a huge step forward for us.

“I’ve had the great privilege to work with Beau in Origin camp previously and am extremely excited to expand on that here at the Titans as a key member of our forward pack.”
