The Perth Bears have reportedly made their first signing for their NRL team, with Englishman Harry Newman set to join the club.
The NRL’s 18th team have been making several attempts to try and sign players to join the West Coast side.
In recent times, they have made pitches to the likes of Gold Coast’s Jayden Campbell, who has reportedly rejected a $6 million, five-year offer to join.
But Newman, according to News Corp’s Michael Carayannis, has reportedly agreed to a three-year deal with the Bears.
The 25-year-old who mainly plays as a centre featured in 129 games for the Leeds Rhinos, where he has managed to score 46 tries in that time.
Newman has also represented England in seven appearances, which included the latest Ashes series against Australia in the Third Test.
The Bears will begin their first NRL season in 2027 with Mal Meninga as head coach.
