Collingwood coach Craig McRae has extended his coaching contract for an additional two years, which now takes him to 2028.
The former three-time premiership player with the Lions during their three-peat years would join the side back in 2022 following the club's lowest finish of 17th back in 2021.
Since he took over, the 52-year-old has brought success into the club, having taken them to a preliminary final in his first year in charge before winning the Magpies' 16th V/AFL premiership in 2023.
Despite not making finals in 2024, McRae helped the Pies respond in 2025 with a veteran-led list, which saw them on top of the ladder for the majority of the year before finishing 4th, which saw their season end once again in the preliminary final.
In a statement, Collingwood President Barry Carp was proud to have McRae extend his contract to help continue fostering the connection he has built with the club.
“Since arriving at Collingwood, Craig has built a philosophy centred on connection, resilience and getting better every day,” Carp said.
“Under his leadership, the Club has reconnected with its people, honoured its history and brought the Magpie Army along the journey, highlighted by our unforgettable 2023 premiership.
“Internally, Craig drives our family first value and connection between players and staff while emphasising the importance of extending that connection with our 19th player - Collingwood Members and supporters.
“We are delighted this connection will continue for at least three more seasons.”
Collingwood will begin their 2026 campaign in Opening Round against St Kilda at the MCG on March 8.
