The Perth Scorchers have won BBL|15 with a six-wicket win against the Sydney Sixers.

Sunday’s final at Optus Stadium was billed as the battle of the dynasties, with Perth entering the game with five titles already and the Sixers with three.

With the Scorchers now pushing that number out to six, there’s no doubt who the Big Bash’s top dogs are.

Things kicked off well for the home side as they won the bat flip, sending the Sixers into bat, with the raucous Perth crowd backing up the Scorchers’ bowling.

While three of the Sixers’ top four could muster 24, including Steve Smith, who took just 13 balls to get there, the Sixers could only manage a below-par 132 in the first dig.

David Payne (3/18), Jhye Richardson (3/32) and Mahli Beardman (2/29) did the damage.

In response, the Scorchers went about things in a methodical fashion, with Mitch Marsh making 44 from 43 balls to steer the side towards the target.

Finn Allen capped his brilliant season with 36, while Josh Inglis (29 not out) and Cooper Connolly (4 not out) were there at the end.

SEN Cricket’s Tom Morris thinks the win puts the Scorchers amongst Australia’s best sporting sides across all sports.

Payne was named Player of the Match for his 3/18 from four overs.
