BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne)

CAULFIELD - Race 8 No.3 - GALLANT SON - Top return win leading into wind with 61kg Flem. Form shaping well. Drops to 56.5kg here and (likely) fitter. 1100m no issue.

BET OF THE DAY (Sydney)

ROSEHILL - Race 7 No.4 - ROSELYN’S STAR - Top return heading out after Hawker Hall who had slipped away Gold Coast. They ran time. Had excuses (no peace) 2nd-up last prep. Won 2nd-up prior. Go well.

VALUE BET OF THE DAY

CAULFIELD - Race 10 No.6 - ZOUPER FUND - Ran over subsequent winners Scampi and Rue De Royale fresh then rock solid Cranbourne, again, that form good. Claims down here and has always looked a 1400m horse to my eye. $9 some value?

Bellmaine Stakes

Race 7 - G3 Bellmaine Stks - Mares - SWP - 1200m

1 - 3 - DAMASK ROSE - Resumes. Lovely work through line in trial. Excellent 1.5L 5th fresh last prep this track/ trip to Magic Time/ Miss Roumbini. If within striking distance straightening, she can beat these girls !

2 - 4 - AVIATRESS - Ha back of Hedged (good form now !!) in Xmas Stks and solid then ran well in Standinh with 58kg again against males. Back to her own sex and actually drops 1kg. Goes close!

3 - 11 - BOSSY BENITA - Resumes. Won BM70 fresh last prep with 59kg. Looked super racing away for 3L trial win recently. Measures up.

4 - 6 - MISS ARIA - Resumes. Beaten 3L by King Of Rouseau in Aurie’s Star fresh in Spring and came through underneath them up straight that day (not ideal). Was right with Bossy Benita in Lets Elope in Spring too.

5 - 5 - SAMANGU - Did little fresh. Much better in Standish when not far off Aviatress despite not being in right spot. Meets her 4kg worse. Beat Miss Aria twice last year.
