The Zac Lomax contract saga is set to continue following a breakdown of talks between the Melbourne Storm and Parramatta Eels.

The two clubs are still unable to agree on compensation terms that would allow the NSW Origin representative to join the Storm in 2026, as reported by News Corp.

It's been alleged that an offer of $300,000 had been made by Storm chairman Matt Tripp to try and get a release.

But that has been rejected by the Eels, which is making it more likely that this dispute will head to the Supreme Court to be deliberated on.

That date is expected to be on March 2.

The two sides will begin their 2026 campaigns against one another at AAMI Park in what will be the first game played in Australia after the Vegas matches on March 5.
