One of the top names in this year’s free agency conversation, Sam Walsh, could potentially be signing a new deal with the Blues before the start of their 2026 season.
The 133-gamer last signed a contract with Carlton in February of the 2022 season, locking him in at the club on a four-year deal until the end of 2026.
Now, AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey is reporting that negotiations are rapidly picking up steam between the player and club, with Carlton hoping to ink a whopping seven-year deal with the 25-year-old.
Walsh is highly motivated to remain and the club, which has made it extremely difficult for rival clubs, such as Hawthorn, Geelong, St Kilda and Adelaide, to muster any meaningful conversations with the midfielder.
The mega extension would lock Walsh in at Ikon Park until the end of the 2033 season, where he will be 33-years-old.
