Sydney Kings coach Brian Goorjian has been fined for his on-court interaction with South East Melbourne Phoenix’s Owen Foxwell.
Following an investigation, the league hit the coach with a $775 sanction for his actions under the NBL’s Code of Conduct.
Midway through the second quarter, Goorjian was caught saying ‘b--ch f--- you’ to Foxwell, which prompted officials to hand him a technical foul.
Phoenix coach Josh King called Goorjian’s actions ‘uncalled for’ in the aftermath of the Kings’ 26-point win.
Post-match Goorjian said he was not going to repeat what was said to him first by Foxwell, adding that the Phoenix player was ‘over by the bench and telling me what to do in my space’.
The club has been formally notified of the league’s decision.
The Kings, who sit second on the NBL table, one spot ahead of the Phoenix, next face Illawarra on Friday night in Wollongong.
