Brisbane will roll out a strong squad in tomorrow’s practice match against Carlton, with a number of stars set for their first hit-out of the year.
The back-to-back premier will include two-time Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale against the Blues at Brighton Homes Arena from 5pm, while academy prodigy Daniel Annable will play his first game after being taken at pick 6 in last year’s national draft.
Free agency recruit and new leadership group member Oscar Allen will feature after a tumultuous final season at West Coast in which knee, achilles and calf issues restricted him to only 12 games.
New co-captain Josh Dunkley is ready to go, along with Jaspa Fletcher and Jarrod Berry, who was the hard-luck story of last year’s Lions flag.
It is unclear whether State of Origin duo Charlie Cameron and Hugh McCluggage will play, but both might be held over until the Lions’ official practice match against Gold Coast on February 26.
Elijah Hollands will play for Carlton as he closes in on a list spot at the club which delisted him last year.
