Adelaide star Izak Rankine has pulled up lame during a training session at West Lakes, grabbing at his hamstring after a high speed chase on Wednesday afternoon.

As seen in the following vision, Rankine steps awkwardly while charging down a teammate mid drill, grabbing at his lower right hamstring before consulting with the club coaches and doctors.

Rankine didn't return to training, however, Adelaide assistant coach Jack Hombsch has revealed that the star should be okay.

"He just pulled up a little bit sore," Hombsch told SEN SA's The Run Home.

"He's getting assessed as we speak, so we don't know too much yet. Hopefully, he is okay.

"At this stage, we are anticipating him still being okay for Friday (practice match versus Port Adelaide), but we don't know too much. The club will find out more in the next couple of hours and update people when we know."

More to come.
