Richmond legend Dustin Martin could be set to make a football return in 2026, according to the Herald Sun.

Martin last played in 2024 for Richmond when he retired after 302 games, three premierships, three Norm Smith Medals and a Brownlow.

After taking 2025 off, the Herald Sun understands that Martin is ‘on the verge’ of signing with the Yarrawonga Pigeons in the Ovens and Murray League.

According to the report, Martin has been undergoing a mini pre-season to regain some match fitness.

If Martin signs for the Pigeons, he’ll be their second massive signing of retired AFL greats, with Bredan Fevola a former player at the club for multiple years.

It’s believed Martin will play between three and nine games for the country powerhouse.

The Pigeons have won six premierships, with their most recent coming in 2023.
