Brisbane forward Patrick Carrigan has named the Broncos players that he thinks will elevate their game in 2026.

After winning their first NRL Premiership in 19 years, optimism is high around Red Hill about the possibility of the men’s side winning back-to-back premierships for the first time since 1997-98.

But while the usual suspects like Reece Walsh, Payne Haas and Adam Reynolds have dominated most of the hype, the Kangaroos’ lock believes that the likes of winger Deine Mariner and second rower Jordan Riki will help the side stay towards the top of the ladder.

“We’ve got a few new faces, obviously, Aublix Tawha is the one that everyone talks about,” Carrigan told SENQ Breakfast.

“But I’m probably excited to see guys like Deine Mariner go to another level.

“I think his training has been unreal.

“And Jordan Riki has really grown this pre-season, too.

“So, without putting them off, I think they are in for big years.”

The Broncos officially begin their premiership defence against the Panthers this Friday (March 6) at Suncorp Stadium.

SEN will have live commentary of the match through Broncos Radio with Corey Parker, Andrew McCullough and Mark Braybrook on call.

That can be heard from 7pm AEDT through SENQ, SEN Track Brisbane and on the SEN app.
