The Adelaide Crows have launched a mega deal at Brisbane Lions star Zac Bailey ahead of a major free agency decision at the end of 2026.
The two-time Premiership player and All-Australian 26-year-old hits restricted free agency at the conclusion of this season, with reports suggesting that numerous clubs across the competition are prepared to table an offer for Bailey's services.
And according to AFL.com.au journalist Cal Twomey, the Crows are the first to officially put a deal in front of Bailey, with a reported seven-year proposal valued at over $10 million offered to the star mid/forward.
“Adelaide has a long-term, lucrative offer in front of Zac Bailey," Twomey said on AFL.com.au's Gettable.
“My understanding is that it is upwards of seven years and getting to the point of $10 million. That is a huge deal that sits in front of Zac Bailey form the Crows.”
Twomey added: “The Lions are fully aware that this contract decision could drag out. By sitting and waiting, Zac Bailey is going to be one of footy’s most sought after players.
“There’s no doubt he’ll get offers of at least $300,000 to $400,000 per year more from some rivals. That’s more than $2 million across the life span of the deal.
“Collingwood is in that group too, Essendon has huge cap space, Melbourne as well will be in the market, why wouldn’t West Coast throw a Hail Mary bid at him?"
Brisbane has also tabled an offer to keep Bailey, reported around $6-$6.5 million over six years.
