The Coates Talent League kicked off on the weekend with six matches played across Victoria.
One of the most spoken about youngsters in the land was on show to kick off his draft year.
Carlton father-son prospect Cody Walker had a day out with 28 touches and two goals, the new Bendigo Pioneers co-captain leading his side to a win over the Tassie Devils.
Walker did receive a fair bit of close checking on the day but still managed to find enough of the footy in a promising start.
Sam Gayfer - the son of former Magpies defender Mick - helped himself to 3.2 and took seven marks in the Northen Knights' massive win over the Oakleigh Chargers.
The highest rated player over the weekend was Gippsland Power's Judd Burgiel - the brother of former West Coast-listed Coby - who racked up 124 fantasy points courtesy of 24 disposals and 10 tackles.
Archie Daffy, the son of former Richmond forward Nick, had a decent game with two goals from 14 kicks in the Geelong Falcons' loss to the Dandenong Stingrays.
