The Ciaron Maher stable has 20 runners racing across Flemington and Randwick on Saturday, but two stand head and shoulders above the rest according to Maher’s National Assistant Trainer, Jack Turnbull.

Sitting as the $3.50 favourite with Sportsbet in Race 4 at Flemington across 1800m, Turnbull has labelled Mukhtalif as their “best winning hope” of the day.

By Sea The Stars, the four-year-old import has had an impressive start to his career, winning three of his six starts and placing in the other three.

The gelding’s maiden debut run in Australia was excellent, winning that Benchmark 74 race at Caulfield across 1800m by 2 lengths.

Now, with three wins on the trot, Mukhtalif, ridden by Logan Bates, looks perfectly placed to continue his winning ways.

“He's a great chance, he’s probably our best winning hope on the day,” Turnbull told SENTrack & RSN’s Giddy Up.

“He’s drawn really well (barrier 2).

“We were either racing here on Saturday, or we were going to go to 2200m next Saturday at Bendigo, but he's still pretty quick, and three weeks to the 1800m seemed ideal.

“So, he's definitely one for your multis.”

Similar to Mukhtalif, the Maher’s stable National Assistant Trainer heaped high praise on Enamorada in Race 2 at Randwick.

The four-year-old mare has also had a delightful start to her career, winning three of her first five races.

The daughter of So You Think has completed three races this prep in Melbourne, coming fifth across 1300m at Sandown (first-up), first across 1300m at Sandown (second-up) and second across 1400m at Caulfield (third-up).

Now, completing her maiden fourth-up run, and running in Sydney for the first time in her short career, Turnbull is bullish that the $3.80 favourite should get the job done.

“Enamorada, she's come up from Victoria and had a lovely benchmark handicap programme up there.” Turnbull stated.

“She's a very promising mare, that'll just continue to go through the grades.

“So, if anyone's having a bet, I'd be definitely sticking with Enamorada.”

With Turnbull confident on the $3.50 Mukhtalif and $3.80 Enamorada, if this Maher-trained duo is combined in a win-multi, the price rockets to $13.30.
