After a round of football headlined by a calamity of errors, AFL EGM Greg Swann has addressed matters surrounding the ARC in a public press conference on Monday afternoon.
A number of inconsistencies took place with the ARC, with a Rowan Marshall mark called back after over 30 seconds of play, while Griffin Logue's touched football was ruled insufficient evidence by the ARC, rewarding the Giants with a goal in a crucial clash.
Swann addressed both of those matters, announcing that the ARC will no longer have the ability to stop the play once the ball is in motion.
"The ARC will no longer call the ball back once the game has restarted, Greg Swann confirms," SEN's Tom Morris stated.
"The ARC won't do that going forward ... they won't intervene like they did on the weekend, unless the goal umpire asks for a goal review," Swann said.
"Was it right? Yes. Did it take too long? Yes."
He also admitted that the Logue incident has been reviewed, conceding that the ARC's decision was incorrect, and the goal should not have been rewarded to the Giants.
"In this case, they (the ARC officials) both felt there wasn't sufficient evidence to turn that over, so went back and said it was the umpire's call," Swann said.
"We've had another review of that today and you can see that it was touched, so that one was incorrect."
More to come.
