Huge news in the AFL world on Tuesday when Michael Voss decided to step down as senior coach at Carlton.

In an unprecedented first, SEN Fireball duo Kane Cornes and David King called an emergency podcast with newsbreaker Tom Morris to discuss all things Voss and the Blues.

Morris says the players weren’t aware that last weekend’s clash with the Brisbane Lions would be the final game for Voss who will be replaced by Josh Fraser for the interim.

“Not even Patrick Cripps, the players had no knowledge as far as I can tell, it was very tightly held,” Morris said.

“Josh Fraser had a meeting with Chris Davies at 7:30am this morning to confirm that he’ll take over as the interim coach for the rest of the year.”

Cornes and King listed their Top 3 candidates to replace Voss at Ikon Park.

Cornes’ 3

“I’m confident it will land with James Kelly. From those you speak to he has been very impressive in the application processes he’s been through,” said Cornes.

“He’s a modern, untried coach who has been in a successful program under potentially the best coach we’ve seen in Chris Scott.”

King’s 3

“You just know what you’re getting with Longmire, you know it’s bulletproof, you know it’s ruthless. He won’t cop any s—t from the board,” King said.
