The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be Australia's seventh appearance at the finals.

First competing at the 1974 edition in Germany, the Socceroos have now qualified for six World Cups in a row.

The best result has been the Round of 16 twice - in Germany in 2006 and Qatar in 2022.
