Tasmanian thoroughbred racing is back on the synthetic in Devonport this Sunday with eight races scheduled.

The first of the day is set for 11:50.

Best Bet

Race 4 – 2. Adachi

Mark Ganderton took two horses to the races in Hobart last Sunday and left with a double, and I think he’s a chance to do it again this weekend. Adachi has been a model of consistency for the stable, running typically honest races at both starts this campaign. The latest was behind the progressive Lady Galadriel. He loves the Devonport 1350m, and I think he’ll be winning here, provided the likely leader, Hartman, doesn’t get it too soft in front.

Next best

Race 6 – 3. Blameitontheboogie

Blameitontheboogie resumes with a bit of a spruik, having won half of his six races in a lightly raced career. His trial on 21 April was very impressive, idling past a bunch that are above this grade, with clearly plenty more to offer. This race appears a target for resumption, given he’s very well placed, and has drawn ideally in four. A strong SP profile may dictate the price is no spoil, but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t go very close.

Best value

Race 3 – 5. Luna Lindt

The third is a very moderate race, hence I’m siding with a 14-start maiden that has yet to finish in the top three. Luna Lindt didn’t show much in her first campaign for Patrick Dargan, but in three runs back, she’s been much better than the form reads, particularly given her SPs. Erica Byrne Burke jumps aboard here, replacing the retired Lizzie Annells, and she’s drawn to settle closer than she did last start. Happy to have something e/w.
