Breaking: St Kilda star undergoes knee surgery

Jack Higgins has undergone surgery on his knee.

The St Kilda forward has been playing through discomfort for a few weeks and complained of soreness during last Sunday’s win over Richmond - a game he completed.

But he was yesterday ruled out of tomorrow night’s clash with Fremantle after experiencing swelling.

The decision was then made to send Higgins in for surgery to get him right for the second half of the campaign and he went under the knife this morning.

The operation is said to be minor and Higgins is expected to be sidelined for the short to medium term.
