LUCKLESS Brisbane Lions veteran Lincoln McCarthy has suffered a nasty hamstring setback, damaging his tendon in a gym incident.

McCarthy, who returned from back-to-back knee reconstructions in Round 1 against Sydney, damaged his hamstring in the Round 9 win over Carlton and sat out last week’s loss to Geelong.

The Lions' injury update this week stated McCarthy “will sit out for the next few weeks as the club continues to manage his hamstring issue.”

But the 32-year-old, who missed the Lions’ 2024 and 2025 premierships, this week suffered tendon damage while rehabbing that hamstring in the gym.

He is now expected to miss six weeks.

Logan Morris should face GWS on Sunday despite jarring his knee against the Cats, while Dayne Zorko and Ty Gallup are set to return.
