Essendon has sacked Brad Scott and that called for an emergency Fireball podcast.
Kane Cornes, David King and Tom Morris came together in the SEN studios to discuss the situation at Tullamarine and what it means for the Bombers.
Cornes said to Morris: “You’ve been covering this extensively, particularly ramping it up in the past fortnight.
“You knew more than Brad. How can that be possible that Brad Scott had no line of sight about what the club was thinking and the direction they were going in, but you did?”
Morris replied: “No, Brad Scott had a very clear line of sight on the overall strategy of the club, but he didn’t have a line of sight on his own position within that strategy.”
King said strongly: “Of course it’s the right move. You can’t live like this, this club is in disarray.
“We’ve heard a lot of words, Brad’s a great talker, he manages up better than anyone I’ve ever met.
“There’s no system, there’s no absolute non-negotiables at this football club. Everyone talks about training standards… it’s all waffle.
“There’s confusion everywhere about how they play. They’re all chasing the ball like an AusKick pack. That’s not AFL footy, that’s miles away.”
