Cam Luke & David Taggart have your Wednesday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Sandown, Warwick Farm & Coffs Harbour in a bid to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
SANDOWN
Race 4 | 7. Empress Of The Sun
Keeps running decently this prep and probably had her best last start at the Bool. She hit the line really well and no doubt will handle the conditions. She enjoys Sandown and she is really nicely weighted today. She is adaptable tactically and it wouldn’t stun me if she led as the speed doesn’t look huge. Houdini is the fav but not sold on 2400m for him so I'm with Empress Of The Sun who I think deep into the prep as the fitness to break through again.
Race 5 | 6. Louis Barthas
In form and even though this is tougher than last start, that was a hell of a win! Three wide no cover and still stretched out nicely to win. Stays at the 1400m which from that gate is a plus as he will be prominent. Has been seven weeks between runs so will be a tad fresh I'd imagine but as long as Ben Allen gets him into a groove he has a lot of upside. Heavy track no issue either. Lovelycut the danger but mixing form a little bit.
Race 6 | 6. Tan Tat Delight
Was really good resuming but was probably om inferior ground when presented to win. Staying at the 1200m is a plus and has second up form. Heavy track no concern and the form out of last prep stands up to this type of race. Mark Zahra goes on and she is drawn to have run of the race. Only been here once and ran well in a very similar race. Expect more of the same but to go one better.
WARWICK FARM
Race 3 | 6. Samaka
Back in trip is a huge plus here! Has had a freshen but a pretty smart trial in between. Should be able to find the fence and the lead here and take running down. The question is always the heavy track but can be said about a few here. Should have been helped enough fitness wise with the trial and with a few who would need to improve on their debut runs, I'm siding with this bloke!
Race 4 | 2. Hovland
Can find an excuse or two for the runs this prep but the tricky gate didn’t help (albeit he got a really nice ride resuming), mind you he is drawn the same here but I think the race is a smidge easier. There is also a suspect a little more speed today as the leader won both those races. (same horse) Heavy track isn't a concern and he is a straight miler. Blinkers on will help and he has won third up, should be at peak fitness and deal with these!
Race 6 | 10. Le Troisir
Forgot last run where he was posted wide without cover and focus on previous. Been right there both in front and behind Houdini who is in the market today in Melbourne. It's run at Bendigo was great beating home So Suave who won a couple weeks back. Comes back a smidge to the 2200m and a soaked track is a positive. Goes up in class but has no weight and TB in the seat! Think he has been very well placed and be very hard to beat!
SANDOWN
Race 8 | 1. Electric Tommy
Backs up from last week’s very good run and could make a case he should have won in what was a messy run race. Will find this easier and this is his preferred surface, is the one they have to beat.
WARWICK FARM
Race 4 | 2. Hovland
Has been honest in both runs to date as he hits this third up where he has had a win. Will handle the heavy and will get every chance.
COFFS HARBOUR
Race 4 | 6. Master Artist
Bolted in here last start on the heavy over this trip. This is slightly harder but should have these covered.
