The SEN Fireball crew are doing some crystal balling.

The question: Where will these coaches be in 2027?

Tom Morris was quizzed by David King and Kane Cornes on several coaches who are being linked with possible clubs ahead of next season.

“This is a risky segment,” Morris told SEN Fireball.

Crystal Ballers - Coaching cycle

“Who will coach these teams in 2027? Round 1, 2027. One name and one name only.”

Essendon: “John Longmire.”

Carlton: “Corey Enright.”

Tasmania (2028): “Ken Hinkley.”

Where will Nathan Buckley coach next year: “Geelong.”

James Hird: “Footy Furnace, Footy Classified, Port Melbourne. I hope James Hird coaches Essendon, from a personal perspective.

“He is less likely than a John Longmire.”

Jimmy Bartel, media or clubland: “I hope he is in clubland, but I think media.”

Beyond the coaches, Kane Cornes asked for an update on Port Adelaide's superstar midfielder.

“I want the latest on Zak Butters,” he said.

“I know you did it last week, but has your position changed?”

Morris: “No, my position hasn’t changed on Zak Butters. Western Bulldogs. I’m still strong on that.

“Clearly, if he wants to make it as easy as possible for Port, then Richmond is the club, but he wants to win.

“He doesn’t want to be in a three or four year rebuild; he wants to go and win a flag somewhere.

“He grew up going for the Western Bulldogs, he lived near the club, they are very confident that they can get him without knowing for sure.

“I’m sticking to that until otherwise informed.”
