Australia has started life in Group D with a strong start having defeated Turkiye 2-0.
Coming into this match, the Socceroos had lost five of their six opening games at a FIFA World Cup™ with Turkiye being the favourites to win.
But the Socceroos would flip the script on that narrative with Nestory Irankunda and Connor Metcalfe scoring goals to secure three points in Group D.
This marks Australia's fifth win at the tournament in its history.
Australia next plays co-hosts USA next Saturday in Seattle.
