Adam Simpson and Gerard Whateley have named their top four seeds following Round 16 of 2026.

Simpson and Whateley will each rank the four teams they have the most confidence in going forward on a weekly basis throughout the year.

The seedings will be updated as the season goes on via SEN’s Whateley.

See the seedings below:

SIMPSON

1 - Fremantle

“Fremantle still No.1.”

2 - Sydney

3 - Hawthorn

4 - Adelaide

“I’m going to goldfish the Showdown and keep Adelaide at 4.

“Strategically I’m looking ahead. They’ve got West Coast this week so I think I’ll be proven right by the end of next week.”

WHATELEY

1 - Fremantle

“Fremantle is clearly one, and by as much space as there is on the ladder.”

2 - Hawthorn

“There’s a chance Hawthorn blows straight past Sydney on the run in.”

3 - Sydney

“I’m sliding Sydney back to three.”

4 - Brisbane

“I’ve got this elaborate play-in strategy around Brisbane. They are now fourth.

“Geelong have the play-in game against them on Thursday night, so whoever wins that is in.”

Note: “I’m disappointed I put Adelaide in as a placeholder. It was the first time I put them in and they’re going straight back out.”
