Premiership Eagle calls time on stellar career

After 277 games across 16 seasons, premiership Eagle Jamie Cripps has called time on a brilliant AFL career.

The former St Kilda small forward and West Coast club legend was a permanent feature of the Eagles' forward line for 14 seasons, kicking 339 goals over his career - 323 of which came in the blue and gold.

Cripps was a crucial cog in the Eagles' 2018 premiership run, racking up 24 disposals and kicking three goals in West Coast's demolition of Melbourne in the Preliminary Final before tallying 16 and a goal to down Collingwood in an all-time Grand Final.

Just last season, Cripps led West Coast's goalkicking in what was a difficult year for the club, and in 2026, a season-ending knee injury in the WAFL brought his career to an unfortunate end.

“I would like to just thank the Club, it’s been an awesome 14 years and a privilege to play for a great Club like West Coast,” Cripps said.

“To play so long and play with some amazing players along the way as well, it’s just been such a fun ride.

“My family make me tick and they’re who I do it for, so to have their support over the years has been massive.

“Now I’m ready for my knee to start feeling better so I can run around with the kids and see what their journey might be, which I’m looking forward to.”
